Mark is the proud co-owner & company director of Gray Brothers Builders. His primary responsibility is working with you from design to construction to ensure that the process remains stress-free and runs as smoothly as possible. His passion is to help you create a home that you can enjoy for decades in the future.

Mark is single-minded – he simply wants to be the best, which for you means that he works hard on achieving high quality and building your home as if it’s his own. You will find Mark is a straight-up guy that’s all over the details. You have nothing to worry during the build because Mark has everything sorted.

​When he is not on-site or on the telephone speaking with clients and managing subcontractors, you can usually find him in the office, compiling the detailed project plans and pricing that make up your dream home.

He has over 30 years’ experience building some of Dunedin’s finest homes. He knows quality doesn’t just happen; it takes hard work and dealing with every aspect of your designer home build.

Outside of the business, Mark enjoys relaxing watching some local club rugby with his mates and socialising afterwards, reminiscing about ‘the old days’ when they were all stars! He still spends time parenting and mentoring his two grown-up daughters and gets to the gym several times a week.

Cory started out as a young apprentice and he has now been at Gray Brothers for over 6 years. Before joining Gray Brothers, he started at PlaceMakers building trusses, but he quickly realised he wanted to build the whole house and be part of a team that was passionate about Dunedin’s finest quality homes. Cory is tenacious – he doesn’t give up – which is how he got Paul to take him on at Gray Brothers – “I bugged him for months to give me a go!”

Cory loves building new designer homes. “It’s all about care, doing the right thing, getting the details right.” He also gets a real kick out of light commercial renovations. “You’re building something that 100’s of people will visit and see your work.”

Cory is a laid-back kind of guy which probably comes from his love of surfing. Growing up in Dunedin, he got the surfing bug in his early years and still goes out on St Kilda beach in all seasons despite the freezing water. He spends the rest of his time with his wife and 2 young kids chilling out around Dunedin.

Amanda loves her job at Gray Brothers Builders, and she genuinely feels part of the team that creates Dunedin’s finest homes. Keeping the office in order, chasing down all the crucial paperwork, the accounts, and the all-important Health & Safety program keeps Amanda busy every day. She also makes sure the website and Facebook page are up to date and working.

She enjoys the banter with the team and seeing how each job is progressing. Amanda will greet most clients phoning the office, she likes nothing better than being able to help to make your build as easy as possible.

Amanda’s busy life is taken up with her young son Kaysen, but she still finds time for her lifetime passion for horse riding.

She is very scared of ovens, probably because as a young child she was threatened by her baby-sitter – “Amanda, if you don’t shut up and stop doing that, I’ll put you in the oven!” Years later, this nightmare re-emerged when she was offered a job at Gray Brothers and realised she had blocked out the fact that the baby-sitter was in fact, Mark Ward!
